KIDS and YOUTH MATERIALS
Dear GCBC Parents:
Today’s sermon marks the beginning of our series through the book of Jude. The Digging Deeper verses will help our children think through great truths about God and how he relates to us. Please use this opportunity to talk with your children and teens about how knowing these truths impacts our daily lives. What does it mean that we are called, loved, and kept by God?
Again I want to put a plug in for registering with Right Now Media. There is a lot of good material on it and not just for kids. There are Bible studies and training resources as well. If you are wanting help with living out your faith at work, leading a small group, or working with children/teens, there are loads of resources for this. And that is just to name a few!
Praying for you all as we continue to navigate life in lockdown. May the Lord give us grace to strengthen and encourage us all.
God Bless,
Mandy
Sunday, 31st May Links:
Digging Deeper Verses (NLT) (for children & youth) – Draw or write down your thoughts
Jude 1b – “I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.”
Jesus’ Followers are CALLED
2 Timothy 1:8-11 – “So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.”
Jesus’ Followers are BELOVED
John 3:16 – “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus’ Followers are KEPT
Romans 8:35-39 – “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?(As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
God calls us to Himself, loves us, and keeps us secure. What should be our response to these truths about God? How does knowing these truths impact how you want to live (what choices you make, how you spend your time, who you hang out with, et al)?
