11am On-line Service 16 May 2021
Dear GCBC Parents:
Our Scripture passage this week is Romans 9:30-10:13. Paul is once again stating that faith alone in Jesus Christ is what makes us right with God. He speaks of how some Jews were still misguided, trying to make themselves right with God by obeying the law as best they could. However, Jesus came to accomplish the purpose of the law so all we need to do is believe in Him.
You can talk with your children specifically about verses 9 and 10 in chapter 10. Ask them what these verses say about being saved? Remind them that they will never be able to obey all the rules in life perfectly because we are born sinful. The only way to be made right with God is by believing in Jesus. How does that make them feel?
I love how Pastor Jason speaks about “do vs. done” when it comes to our faith. We either try to do all the proper things to make us right with God, or we trust that what Jesus has done on the cross will make us right with God.
I look forward to seeing some of you in church this Sunday as we are allowed to meet in person again, and I pray we all continue to have wonderful faith conversations as families throughout the week.
God Bless,
Mandy
